Introduction to Biostatistics

This session is covered by Dr Clare Gillies, Associate Professor in Medical Statistics at the University of Leicester.

The learning outcomes of this session are:
- Distinguish between data types (continuous, categorical) and identify the most appropriate way to summarise and present each type
- Recognise the difference between populations and samples
- Differentiate between the null hypothesis and the research hypothesis
- Interpret confidence intervals, effect estimates and hypothesis tests
- Choosing the right test
