It was a magical evening. 1500 singers came to Luminato Festival at the Hearn Generating Station in Toronto. Daveed + Nobu (AKA DaBu) taught them back up parts to Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah, then Rufus Wainwright joined them on stage to sing lead. It was an EPIC NIGHT! to remember.

Thanks to everyone who made this happen.

I was at my local shopping centre one evening a few years ago and a saxophone busker started playing this. Everyone in the street just randomly started singing. There were people in cafes. The cinema had just come out, they all joined in. Shoppers. People hanging out of their cars. Random people on the footpaths. Everyone just stopped moving and joined in. It was surreal. All their voices ringing beautifully. It was truly amazing. All theses years, it still gives me goosebumps. I don’t think i’ll ever forget that atmosphere.

We need a worldwide hallelujah day where the entire world lifts up their voice together!

I’m here in my house during quarantine and I’m watching my favorite things. I’ve probably watched this video a thousand times and this time I cried harder than ever. Strangers coming together and making something beautiful.
EDITED: OMG 1.4K LIKES TY

How can you expect me to remain enraged at the gross stupidity of people when you attack me with the grace and beauty of human voices united in harmony. Damn you for making me cry

I'm not religious but I love the sound of human voices coming together, it is the most surreal and at the same time grounding thing ever. Simply most beautiful.

I cannot say enough about the two guys who run this show. I was honoured to be part of the Choir! Choir! Choir! recently at the Sanderson Centre in Brantford. It was so much fun and truly demonstrates the love and positivity alive in our world. Never stop singing! (really wish I had taken time to buy the shirt)

I can't imagine what heaven will sound like. Imagine billions of people all singing the same song. Beautiful.

I wish I could lock the world in a room and have them sing together - music heals the soul, warms the heart, lifts us up to be filled with love. Hallelujah.

Paused at 0:53 im already starting to cry. My mom lost her battle with cancer in 2011 and i played this song for her before she died. She was in an incredible cognitive decline and just smiled. I miss you so much mom. Im all alone now. Hopefully I'll be with you soon.

This song ALWAYS strikes a cord. I am not, and never will be a religious person. With that said this song speaks to my soul, to me as a human being and I absolutely love it!
