The website says it draws air from both top and bottom, so the filters should be facing opposite directions. But in the video and in the manual the instructions are very unclear and show them facing the same directions.

PLEASE NOTE I contacted BlueAir I was informed to insert the main filters with the carbon (black) sides facing towards each other. White side up in the top slot and the white side down in the bottom slot. BlueAir YOU could have easily just posted this.. very disappointing

Based on the instructions on the back of the filter box for the DustMagnet 5400, it *appears* that the black carbon side faces *up* on the top filter and *down* on the bottom filter. Incredibly annoying how this is basically not specified anywhere or is conflicting based on which instruction manual you look at. But from what I’ve been able to gather, this would be the proper installation method. Blueair, please do better in specifying this though.

in this video the bottom filter is placed where the carbon side looking down which is wrong!!

To reset the filter indicator, this is from the BlueAir Dust Magnet FAQ: "Press and hold the fan speed button for 15 seconds to reset the filter timer." When I did it, the indicator first flashed, then turned off. The phone app updated itself momentarily afterward.

Why does she put the botton filter the wrong way? The white side should face the air intake at the bottom. AMATURE!

Follow the ARROW - that is the direction of airflow.you will never go wrong inserting it.
Bottom filter insert with arrow ( airflow up) .Top filter arrow down( airflow going down) .

If the machine pulls air from the top and from under the bottom then out the sides to breath, I would say the cloth side face up on the top and faces down on the bottom. This filters the air before the Charcoal filter. Makes sense but if people change them they could easy make a mistake getting them wrong way around should have a video to help people, oh it’s just about selling right!

New purchase a 7470i from Jan, and malfunction at Apr.
Local dealer swapped a new machine to me, but it failure again after 2 weeks.
4 months usage, twice failure... Totally unacceptable~
I don't want to repair/swap anymore, please accept return for this useless machine.
