As an additional note, if you are bit, DO NOT:
-Cut/Suck the Venom out
-Create an odd concoction of dead animal and bodily waste as a paste for the wound
-Apply a tourniquet
-Take NSAID
-Take antihistamines
-Bring the snake with you to the ER.
-Agree to any surgery relating to the snake bite

DO:
-Remove jewelry and tight clothes
-Go to the ER
-Elevate the limbs
-Monitor charts
-Push for Antivenin

Copperhead bites are extremely unlikely to be fatal to humans. Still not worth an unnecessary trip to the hospital that can be avoided just by giving the snake its space and maintaining a respectful distance.

To everyone who is scared you probably wont see it, if you do just stand still until it leaves ir slowly back away snakes can feel you vibrations so dont panic. If you are bitten by it apply a bandge from the bite up to the top of the limb make sure it is tight but it doesn't cut offf blood flow and call 911 immediately - an Australian

I literally live in northern New Jersey they come off the mountain all the time and I don't think anyone actually understands that we have a healthy population of them up in our mountains

I’m from Australia and a rule of thumb for me when I see a snake is to remain calm and move slowly and call somone for help if needed
