I've been really reinventing my style this year, and something crucial to that process has been playing with Aspect Ratio. Last time, I covered how I've been playing with wider aspect ratios when content warrants it - and today I'm showing you my hacky workflow for beautiful 4:3 and 3:2 video using anamorphic lenses vertically. I'm breaking all the rules to make my own for videography.
The Sirui 1.25X anamorphic adapter makes any lens look unique in a variety of ways, and I can't wait to keep trying it on more lenses.

Nice stuff, dude! I love seeing all the experimentation and problem-solving.
One tip, high pass your VO. There's a lot of low end frequencies that are only adding annoying low end action, and making my subs and monitors assault my ears lol. Most people are probably watching on their phones, and never notice, and will lose nothing by these low frequencies being filtered out. Those of us watching in our studios or home theaters will greatly appreciate it (sometimes I have to skip videos unless I want to high pass on my end). Also, removing these frequencies won't at all take away from the deep, boomy VO that you're going for. In fact, it'll only enhance it! Take care, and have a great week!

Is it possible to shoot CRTs at 60fps without flicker? I can't with my GH5S. Synchro scan only goes down to 1/60 or 1/60.1 with synchroscan enabled, but I cannot go below. Lots of signals hover around 59.94 or slightly lower so I can't get it locked without going down to 30fps.

4:47 I imagined doing thst would make a psuedo-90s psuedo-CCD look with vertical highlight streaks and imperfect (but interesting) geometry.

Plus if the squeeze factor is 1.33x on a 1.90:1 sensor area, a 1.43:1 IMAX GT projector would un-squeeze it perfectly.

Also the images you get from shooting open gate is just amazing. There’s just so much more to see especially when we are investing in full frame. Just the added bigness of the image is worth it.

Crazy*. My gh5s and gh6 can do open gate but it looks like ticktock to me and unprofessional so I never use it
