US President Joe Biden is set to embark on his first trip to Asia since taking office more than a year ago. He'll hold talks with the newly installed South Korean President in Seoul, where North Korea's nuclear threat will be high on the agenda. Then it will be onto Tokyo which will include a Quad Leaders' Summit with his Japanese, Australian and Indian counterparts, with the overall aim of bolstering support for Washington's plans to counter China's increasing influence in the Indo-Pacific region.
