If anyone is confused by the open non-barre chord version using the F barre chord, you can do the open version, where you mute both E strings and use your index to play the B 1st fret (X3321X)

Great lesson. I reckon the intermediate chords are easier to play than the beginner - the barre Am to barre F is simpler than starting with the open Am.
