I will also add that the erroneously called Al-Aqsa mosque on the Temple Mount is the 3rd holiest site in Sunni Islam. In Shiite Islam, the 3rd holiest is in Najaf in modern day Iraq.

The Al-Aqsa mosque is in Ja'arana in Saudi-Arabia, and not in Jerusalem. It was Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan who converted a once Byzantine-era church on the Temple Mount into a mosque, but this conversion took place about 60 years after prophet Mohammed died.
