Wholeheartedly agree with the focus on Cisco certs! Those are the ones recruiters are looking for, and it's not difficult to transfer your skills from Cisco to other vendors if/when the need arises.

You are 100% right about gatekeepers. Certifications doesn't make you an expert but the process does

It's always refreshing listening to you. Thank you for this. Got the CCNA late last year and was wondering what to go for next. But now, I know what to go for.

Awesome, awesome base line in finding my next inspiration. I have learned a great deal from David and also network Chuck, they want this to be serious but also FUN when it comes to learning. Thank you, and please keep pumping out new information and videos!

Currently working on my CCNP. Have already done my CCNA with 3 programming languages on the side; html, C# and python. It really helps.

Thanks for this information. I'm currently in a PC Support role, and looking to advance my career. I was sincerely considering a Juniper networking cert, however, the comparison search you showed has convinced me that the CCNA is likely the best route to take.

Good, solid list, David. Like you, I've had many, many certs over the years, but ended up letting a lot of them lapse. So last year I did get the DevNet Assoc (really outside my comfort zone and I love it) and I'm half-way to getting my CCNP Enterprise (2nd CCNP).

Totally agree with you. For me personally, I got my CCNA in the 2021 and now preparing for the CCNP ENCOR. Looks to me that they CCNP ENCOR exam is a smooth transition from the CCNA.

I am changing careers and am taking a Networking program at a local polytechnic school which includes the CCNA program. Hopefully after this course I can write it. I am also taking the Cisco RSTECH as my instructor said it would help with some concepts. Security is my goal but learning code will help as well.
I'm not young, but it is never too late to start learning something new. Thanks for the motivation as always!
