Georgia community holds vigil following high school shooting that killed four

Following the shooting at a Georgia high school that killed four people and injured at least nine, the Winder community came together for a vigil. NBC News' Jesse Kirsch spoke with a 15-year-old student who recalled the moment she heard gun shots.

If your a gun owner with kids then you should be held responsible for making sure that your guns are secured. Add to the fact that the parents of this 14 year old were notified about a school shooting threat that their son made last year and still apparently did not secure their firearms. If thats the case then there should be charges brought up on the parents as well. Gun ownership comes with responsibility

A 14 year old CANNOT legally possess a gun by themselves in any of the 50 states. They have to be locked up away from minors in the house. So what happened here….

Let’s protect these schools like we protect other nations.. Israel…Ukraine… we have billions for them but not a dime for schools?? Make it a federal mandate that schools are funded by our nation. Not by districts money or lack of it. Protect our children!

At the McDonald's near my house if i sit down for longer than 15 minutes, a man with 2 guns politely asks me to leave. If i give him any attitude I'll be talking to 2 police officers less than 10 minutes later. Why do we protect McDonald's, strip clubs and liquor stores better than we protect our children?

By 1999, around 10% of schools in the United States had metal detectors. By school year 2015-16, that had decreased to 4.5% of United States schools using random metal detector searches, and 1.8% using daily searches (Schildkraut & Grogan, 2019).
All schools SHOULD have THEM- PERIOD!
