The Yangtze River is the longest river in Asia and the third-longest in the world. It drains one-fifth of the land area of China. It Plays a large role in the history, culture and economy of China.
The Yellow River is the third-longest river in Asia and the sixth-longest in the world at the estimated length of 5,464 km. Its basin was the birthplace of ancient Chinese civilization, and it was the most prosperous region in early Chinese history.
The Grand Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the longest canal or artificial river in the world and a famous tourist destination. The oldest parts of the canal date back to the 5th century BC, although the various sections were finally combined during the Sui dynasty.
