This week, a devastating fire broke out at Brazil's National Museum. Only an estimated 10 percent of its 20 million artefacts have been saved. The blaze has sparked outrage, with protesters taking to the streets to criticise the government, whom they blame for not providing the museum with adequate funding.
Also, it's been one year after Hurricane Irma hit the small Caribbean island of Saint Martin, leaving a trail of destruction behind. The question now is how to physically rebuild the island but also help its residents psychologically. One neighbourhood association has been focusing on helping children come to terms with the trauma of the hurricane.
And Nike is facing a backlash after making the former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick the face of its new advertising campaign. The 30-year-old made headlines for kneeling during the US national anthem in 2016 to protest against racial injustice and police brutality. Nike described the controversial player as "one of the most inspirational athletes of his generation".
