This is a 1959 MG MGA 1600. It's the oldest car I've ever driven and It's definitely one of the most fun cars I've ever gotten to review

The most beautiful car ever made.
I'm biased, had one in the 60s and toured Europe several times, crossed alpine passes, down into Italy, etc. Magic.

I'm currently in the process of beginning the restoration of my grandfather's '61. this gives me chills seeing one in such pristine condition!

Surprise, I'm the guy who searches for this car every day on youtube, and today I was excited to see this video pop up in search. What a stunning example, with very practical modifications like the driver mirror, lucas fog lamps, oil temp gauge under the speedo and a super charger too?? Wow, just wow... It was awesome watching you guys go through all the emotions a first time passenger would get riding in my oh! Your turn indicators are operated with the little black lever next to the light on your far left....you'd be surprised to learn how that thing actually works, too. I was.

Coolest car ever, Thanks for the ride :)

Elvis’s reaction is on point. If you can drive one of these and not laugh like he did, you have much more self control than I do! Great fun.

It’s not MG MGA 1600, It’s just MGA 1600( I just finished restoring one) Those wheels are readily available ( no reason to have them made), and its not a single overhead cam, it’s an overhead valve engine.
The Judson supercharger was available only in the aftermarket never available from the factory. Radios were not factory ( no such thing as an original one) they were dealer installed or aftermarket. Nit-picky i know, but 5 min of internet research would tell you those things before filming so you know your getting the details right. ( that’s what I do anytime I’m covering anything I’m not totally familiar with.

I believe the original steering wheel was 16 1/2 ".
The clip on mirror was not stock. Looks good and more functional that the originals.
Fine looking car.
I owned a 1956 MGA back around 1970 in which I stuffed a tricked up 3 Main MGB motor, over 100 HP
due to the cam and porting.

Incidentally, MG owners and fanatics do not call the MGA an MG MGA, it is an MGA. MG would be redundant.
Same goes for the MGB (such as my 63) it is an MGB not an MG MGB.

Excellent video.

Turn indicator or turn signal control is the black rotary switch to the left of the Rev Counter. The little light lens to the switch indicates that your turn signal is on.

The turn signal switch is the lever pointing down to the left of the Tach.

From the camera angle Cor is holding, it looks like you’re in a Disneyland ride lol

My first car in 1965 and the directional signal switch is on the left side of he dash next to the tac. You could also crank start it which always impressed my high school friends. A friend of mine for many decades once said to me " We had better car's in high school then we do now " ain't it the truth....Aloha BTW, the twin SU carbs were a BITCH .

Is the guy laughing all the time because he didn't know they made cars in 1959?
