I randomly recalled the Ad guru Piyush Pandey and, being a creative adman myself with an agency of my own, I decided to scroll through and came across an interview with Mr. Pandey. Interestingly, he’s almost my age! During my time at Chaitra Leo Burnett, he was with O&M, and now, he has reached the pinnacle of success in the advertising world, becoming an icon to be remembered forever.
I thoroughly enjoyed the show. Thank you, Shantanu, and a big salute to the Ad guru.

When he talks about data he is talking about Tangibles(Objective) and when he talks about human emotions and experience he is talking about intangibles (subjective).
From his perspective today's marketers are number driven scientific in its core and earlier it was Human experience and interpersonal network driven and hence very artistic in its core..., !!!
Imagine an Amalgamation of both approaches, to briefly explain where you put both Artistic and scientific at the extremes of a scale and then make a conscious effort to meet in the middle....what Brilliant Marketing would emerge out of it !!!!

That's Indian Advertising's foremost Storyteller playing on the frontfoot with his legendary wit against the debutant bowling machine of an entrepreneur.

I like the way he folded his hands before the legend in the end. He deserves all that respect and more.

Lovely. There has to be a part 2 with Mr. Piyush Pandey. This one was slightly below expectations purely because the man doesn't do many interviews and every word spoken by him is Gold. Entrepreneurs definitely need to listen to more of him, this much is not enough, it feels incomplete.

the start convo regarding Naai just hit so hard all of a sudden.
In Eastern UP Naai played the role of rishte wale but also they are one of the few people who are with the family in all events from weddings to death ie Tervi/Mayyat.
Naai also evolved into caste groups who are to be taken care of by the wealthy so during any event the 1st recipient of all the daan/dakshina used to be the Naai family.
Even modern day Naai are 1 such profession who is inside your personal space and has to enter into some chatter and force a conversation in. The music/movies playing in the background have also gotten a cult status in pop world. Now with premiumisation of the industry the appearance has become formal like a brand name of salons and a uniform like tshirt etc but the essence of gossip/chatter is still the same as people show up to fix their insecurities every month - the beard should be exactly dense and hairlines sharply defended. Loyalty towards your barber is also sacred lol
