Once at university I struggled with a test I didn't prepare for. I felt bad and was angry at myself for not preparing better. So I took the decision to fail on purpose to be able to repeat it and get a better grade like I have seen other students doing that many times before. I felt so excited and scared since I was usually a straight A student, and did this for the first time. To look not too bad I just threw some short answers on the paper although I would have been able to answer in more detail. When the results came back I had passed the test with a (compared to my usual grades) bad grade. Belonging to a small minority, though, since 92% of the students had failed the test. I didn't know what I should be more upset about: The fact that I could have had a way better grade if I trusted myself more and put more efforts in my answers. Or the fact that I had tried to fail really hard and was scared about it, but couldn't even manage to do that. I felt like a total loser in every possible way. 😂 No need to mention I went through a very tough phase at that time.
