I believe you did a wonderful job emulating Denise's style! I find these collabs so interesting and I love to watch how each artist approaches the task that you set for one another! The best part is there is unique art that is created from the experience that would NOT have been created if you had not gotten together! Thank you for giving us this experience.

Beautiful painting, I think you nailed it. Funny what you were saying about actual color versus perceived color, I wanted to paint my kitten and told my husband I was looking what color she is. He says orange and black, nope not at all, closer to rust/grey/ raw Sienna.

Ahhhh!! Jennifer, I love everything about this! It was so fun watching you work in a different style and I'm so touched you went above and beyond to a paint an African animal for me and used similar tools. This turned out beautifully, and you did a great job with the texture on the horns! I use tons of layers, so you we're right on point there. love love love the gazelle, reminds me of dutch artist rien poortvliet. my fav mix is burnt sienna with ultramarine; i usually paint the background first; that is not as intimidating as when my piece is ready

found the reference picture on pixabay, i think this beauty is one i will try with my arches... if i am trying something new i might as well use paper i am typically not a big fan of when it comes to my usual bigger painings... i only used arches twice; for an inmemoriam big botanical piece. But boy what a struggle that gives

Being able to SEE colors as they actually are is so incredibly important. I wasn’t introduced to the idea until college and it gosh darned well blew my mind.
