Am I the only person who thinks this song is actually a cry for help? He repeatedly says "I'll Be Good, " as if someone is about to hurt him. It's also as if he's apologizing for all the times he was a bad boy. When he says" I thought I saw the devil this morning, " that could mean a partner or parent. He never meant to hurt you.. or "I never meant to make you bleed, " could be if he has hurt anyone around him and regrets it. His past has also "tasted bitter", which could mean it wasn't a happy one, and now he treats people how he feels, just like the line says.."...I wield an Iron Fist..." And, "I'll love the world like I should, " could be that he doesn't love the world and wants to leave it. He also shut out most of the light in his life, so that could meant that everyone he has known, that was a light in his life, has now been pushed away by himself and his feelings. That can also be in conjunction with "...All of the bruises I've caused and the tears, " because he pushed everyone away, but maybe not in the kindest form or fashion. I hope someone you agree with this! I just randomly heard this in Autoplay and fell in love, but then I found a darker meaning to it.. But I still love it!! <3
