Usher deserves a lot of credit as an artist for bringing out relationship songs from a male point of view. "Papers", "Confessions", "Burn" - even a romantic song like "There Goes My Baby". His songs have a way of presenting a man's point of view in relationships in a truthful, but respectful way - in a way that I hope many women understand. "Papers" is a case in point. I have this on repeat right now. I wish men - especially Black men - were allowed to be more free and honest with their (our) emotions without being seen as "soft" or "weak".

I'm still listening to this in 2019. This song came a year before my divorce was finalized and it spoke volumes to my situation. 8 years later I'm fully refreshed but I still love this song. And for those that say stick it out, people give up too easily, etc: I didn't sign up to get cheated on. There's no sticking it out after that..
