I consider myself super frugal--I love the convenience of Dawn Powerwash so I bought one bottle and now simply refill it, . 3 oz Dawn, 2 oz alcohol (70%), 11 oz water, Gentle shake and good to go!

There is very little in this world that one needs to acquire 'new' - food, medicine, lenses for glasses / contacts, certain personal hygiene products (feminine products, toilet paper), but the rest - thrift stores, eBay, Poshmark, Craigslist, Fakebook marketplace, etc., etc., etc. And for whoever asked - frugality is a way of life and not dependent on one's net worth. I grew up in an upper-middle class household like this and it stuck. Made living in 3rd world countries a whole lot easier to tolerate. Keep up getting the word out @Frugal Fit Mom!!

Ok, I have to comment on the 'ice staying cold longer'...

To start, I totally agree in not following the trends and I do not own a Stanley...BUT, I do own multiple vacuum insulated cups because we live in Arizona. In the summer time, you have to have them if you do not want to drink warm/hot water. It is just a fact. Also, you do not have to deal with all the condensation that comes with the plastic cups. It is just a way of life out here. 😁

You made me laugh when you said you’ve watched friends a zillion times. My daughter could quote any episode too. 😂

I belong to a "Buy Nothing Facebook group" for my neighbourhood, all walkable for pick up: 2 flat screen TV's, watches, cookie jar, shoes, clothes, food...etc free and kept out of landfill

We are a family of three and I caught us spending about $220 sometimes $230 a week on groceries. I quickly put a stop to this and we are only buying exactly what I need to make meals during the week and stocking up with $10 a week on shelf stable Foods. For the past month and a half our weekly bill has been around $120 a week. I have very many dietary needs I am gluten-free, can't eat a lot of foods because I'm diabetic so I do need some specialty products. But now none of our food is going in the garbage I buy exactly how many peppers I need and if we don't use them I freeze them for meals like sausage and peppers and onions. It's been a great experience and I've learned this from people like you and other frugal people on YouTube the only thing we buy in bulk is maple syrup because that's our main sweetener toilet paper and paper towels. I know I said paper towels but I'm also legally blind so I spill a lot of things LOL

I'm a huge "Friends" fan. I was so excited, when about 6 months ago, I found the entire 10 seasons of Friends, at a Goodwill store, for only $5.

I am a 70 year old frugal person on. But I have to tell you, Dawn Power wash really is worth it. Better on stainless than anything I have tried, or made.

Love your tips! My car is 22 years old with 218, 000+ miles and my husband's car is 11 years old with 100, 000+ miles. Mine will probably go 1st, but it keeps going, so it's a keeper. Totally agree that research on the important purchases is key. Have you ever noticed that if you put items in your Amazon cart and save for later the prices eventually go down? Saved a lot by waiting for sales or prices drops.

When you get your eye glasses prescription, also remember to ask them for your pupillary distance. You will need that when you order online (you can measure it yourself, but it is difficult to measure it yourself). We buy from Zenni often and love it.

We bought our Toyota FJ Crusier and it was 7 years old and 99, 000 miles on it. 10 years fast forward and almost 300, 000 miles on it and now we’re having some issues with the back axle but the engine is still great ! It’s been a fantastic auto to own. Never have bought a brand new car actually. All good used ones 😊

My husband and I are loving dawn power wash right now!! Haha, so funny you mentioned it! To refill you can just use a little Dawn soap, rubbing alcohol, and fill the rest with water. I just give a little spray on my sponge before washing dishes and it cuts down on the amount of soap I use (I like suds)! I keep a second bottle in the bathroom to spray before I clean my toilets!

I used to think exactly like you in that I thought the Dawn Power spray was a way to sell air !!
However, I did try it once and OMG it works SO well!!! It actually saves $ because you can spray only certain areas and you don’t use a “glob” of soap. Also, you can make your own (using the empty spray bottle) by mixing rubbing alcohol, water and liquid Dawn.

I use my credit cards for almost all my purchases and then pay off the entire balance each month. This allows me to accrue cash-back from the cards. (Beating them at their own game).
I do agree with all your other points!!

I get my eye glasses from my eye doctors since my insurance pays for them that way. Buying them online I would have to pay out of pocket. I love mrs. Meyers cleaning supplies because they work really well and the nice scents help me actually get my butt up and clean.

😄 ''Where the spinach has gone to die, again''. I used to buy eggplant whenever I'd see it at Costco, with the intention of making a batch of ratataouille. My spouse started saying ''oh look, you bought some more compost''.

If I’m considering an item, I put it on my Wish List. And then I can think about. Stuff from 3 years ago are still on the list

Did that to help my son. Had him open up a Discover card account. Set up the discover card to autopay his cellphone bill. Then had him set up his checking account to autopay the discover card. After about 6 months, his score was in the upper 700s, now he's around 805 and still only has the discover card and is debt free

We have Yetis at our house. We didn’t buy them when they were popular. We happened to stumble upon them and loved them. We bought them as souvenirs on our trips to Amish country over the years. Everyone in the house has one or two, we rarely use glasses or coffee cups now. 🤷🏼‍♀️ everyone in our family loves them and they essentially last forever.

My last sams veggies, I used mason jar to store and they last two weeks. I also go through my produce and pick what I can freeze for other things (spinach I save for a spinach dip) I do this with my onions also. The stuff near edge goes into a freezer bag for making stock, if I have have anything with bones, I save enough to make a few batches of stock. I barely throw much away at all
