Joe Biden blames Trump administration over timing of Afghanistan withdrawal

President Joe Biden has blamed Donald Trump over the timing of the Afghanistan withdrawal.

The president defended his strategy in an address to the nation, the day after the final troops left.

However Mr Biden did not go as far as admitting that anything went wrong with his administration's withdrawal strategy.

The only assumption that failed in his eyes in this address was that the Afghan government had fallen – but he was adamant that they had a contingency plan for that too.
