Re: ScaredAnnie: Yes, you are correct. Victor Young orchestrated the melody and used it as the primary theme for the full score of this movie which brought this great song to public attention. But Ray Evans should receive the full credit for the song. Mea Culpa

Buttons and Bows was the 1947 Oscar-winning song. It was written by Jay Livingston and Ray Evans, not Victor Young.
