Top 10 USMNT Under-20 players to watch

Mauricio Pochettino's USMNT has already shown glimpses of the dynamic, swashbuckling team that we suspected they could be and excitement is starting to rise in the USMNT fan-base again. But are there more reasons to get excited? Could the future be as bright, if not brighter than, the present? Today I'm listing my Top 10 Under-20 players to watch, in that order.

It’s hard to tell how a lot of youth products will develop. But these youth products do have me dreaming a little bit more about the USMNT future. These younger kids are tactically different and seem to be more technical on the ball. There are a good chunk of them already in Europe for some big clubs so you know the training and learning is different which can be good for these players. Hopefully by the time 2026-2030 rolls around some of these guys break through for their clubs and we can go from there to see how they perform for the national team. Exciting times from a fan perspective

We should still have excitement for Caleb Wiley. Hes still 19 and only 10 days off for being eligible for U-20 and one of the few Americans in a top 5 league.

Cavan Sullivan is a creative player with vision for positional awareness, timing and momentum of plays, he plays with an athletic presence, he takes high IQ risks on plays that help to win games. All the left brain contrived garbage of "playing technical and in this position and that formation... blah blah blah" doesn't matter for shit if you do not know how to make decisions that come from the players own inner genius. The ENTIRE problem with the USMNT is that we have a bunch of technically advanced robot-boy-scouts on the field playing multiple choice scantron standardized soccer! Cavan is out there representing the humanities playing right brained written composition soccer, BRO!

Good summary. I think it's in some order: Albert, Berchimas, Sullivan Kochen and Banks as a top 5. Then Soma and Campbell. Wynder. Carrizo seems to be a consensus. I'd say that you have to keep Wiley in for now. But I'm going from reading around and a little seeing them play.

Adrian Simmons Gill has started playing again. He was subbed in a game about a month ago so he seems to he back playing.

It’s hard for me to be hype for our Eredivsie guys because I remember when Jozy Altidore lit up that league and then flopped in the Premier League. The Eredivisie is a striker’s league.
