Today was another very long day of hiking! We started at the road crossing for Woodstock, VT (mile 1729.0) and hiked to Norwich, VT (mile 1750.6) for a total of 21.6 miles today! We started late because of a late breakfast at the hostel, but we still made good time over all of the PUDS that Vermont put us through! We had to race a thunderstorm (which of course we lost) to West Hartford where we hid in an open garage from the downpour of rain! Thankful for trail angels who filled our waters at their house and let us hide out in the garage for a bit! Then we continued on to Norwich where our family friends, the Smiths, let us stay in their house!!! We got to shower, do laundry, and even borrowed a car to go get some dinner! Then we had a comfy bed to sleep in!!!

I didn’t find your channel until late in your journey but I have watched all your videos. I especially love how your faith shines through in all your vlogs.

Everytime you mention Up and Downs I sing Morgan Wallen's "Up Down"!

I wonder if those people leave their garage open on purpose on stormy days? I would like to think they do because they know hikers need shelter.

I was wondering what your average pack weight is and what is the heaviest you carried

"The Trail Provides ..." that saying just keeps proving true! Some things that are really nice (e.g., beautiful woods, streams, fields, colorful newts all along the trail, trail angels, new friends, open garages when needed, family friends providing showers, cars, comfy beds, etc.), and some things that aren't so nice (e.g., unexpected storms, and, wait for it PUDS!!!). 😎🌄

The trail truly does provide when it's most needed.

So, did you meet the people whose garage you went into to get out of the rain?

Thank you for letting us live vicariously through you guys! I love that you show us upstream and down as you cross. Much appreciation for showing us sights we probably won’t ever see. You are both awesome and your trail names are perfect 👍💜
