Self-care isn't selfish

For the longest time, I believed that self-care was a wholly selfish and self-centered act, and I am SO glad I sorted that mess of a notion out because it is NOT. If you know anyone who holds this view, get them to watch this quick time (or play it on blast for them to get the message looooooud and clear, especially for those at the back!).

My mum is 80 years and she does so much self-care, hair, food, clothes, less sugar, more vegetables, and lentils. she writes, she reads, watches limited TV and exercises in the garden for 1 hour. Its a routine. She is aware of time. She is aware of wasting time. I take many examples from her because it influences me. she never went to University or had a job. These are her own ideas to cope everyday. it lifts her mood and spirits. She does not take major medicines or has heart problems. She does not talk with people who she knows will waster her time.

I say to myself: "I am also important " to remind myself that I don't have to put up with everything
