OSPF Characteristics:

• OSPF stand for Open Shortest Path first.
• It is Standard protocol.
• It's a Link state routing protocol.
• It supports large networks.
• It uses Dijkstra's Shortest Path First algorithm to determine the best path to learned networks.
• It has very fast convergence time.
• It send Messages using multicast.
• RIP has maximum router 16 so we cannot use RIP in Large Production Networks. Whereas OSPF support unlimited hop count.
• It support only equal cost load balancing.
• It support VLSM.
• It is classless routing protocol.
• It have Area concept to ease management and control traffic.
• Area 0 is must and other area should connect to Area 0.
• Administrative distance for OSPF is 110.
• Hello Timer for OSPF is 10 sec. And Dead Timer is 40 sec.
• Multicast Ip address
• In OSPF router send only updates network not entire routing table as it send in RIP.
• Multicast address for OSPF is 224.0.0.5 & 224.0.0.6
• OSPF sends all updates in the form of LSA (Link state advertisement).

network Network Id wildcard mask area 0
network Network Id wildcard mask area 0

OSPF Tables:

Neighbor Table:
Directly connected network

How to check?
Sh ip ospf neighbor

Database Table:
List of the all links and all router will same this table i.e.. Identical database.

How to check?
Sh ip ospf database

Routing Table:
It contain Best Path towards the destination.

How to check?
Sh ip protocal

Sir, dose the hello packet in OSPF is same as EIGRP hello packet, that send the keep alive message to neighbors router?
