Thats one of the first lines of XBR TV's Sony made. It isn't a PVM but it has the same tube as an older PVM apparently... It's one of those consumer North American Trinitrons that have that IDE looking connector to harness RGB. Very cool.

Since i'm European i don't need to deal with those special CRTs, our CRTs always come with RGB, the only bad thing is 50hz in games😅

Well, I miss it all. The ps1 felt like a portal to another world, I will never feel this again with another gaming console.

I use my PS1 the following way:

early 3D 240p games ---> Composite (Metal Gear, Silent Hill, Medievil, Resident Evil, etc. were made with this image quality in mind to hide its flaws)

16/32bit 2D games ---> RGB. Rayman, Lomax, Tombi! (Or Tomba! in NA), Castlevania, Klonoa, Mickey, all of them really benefit from this signal. Colors pop like nothing else.

Particular 3D cases: Spyro, Crash and Ape Escape, they're early 3D but so cartoonish/colourful that RGB makes them look incredible. Tekken 3 also looks really good, and Omega Boost is an outstanding piece of software which pushes the PS1 to its limits, it's really nice using RGB for this game too.

Summing up, I use a different cable depending on what I'm playing. Same case as the Sega Saturn, its 2D games are truly amazing with an RGB signal, but most 3D games (except VF1/2, Panzer Dragoon Zwei and some others) are better with composite IMO.

Подключали psone насквозь через видеомагнитофон и могли регулировать резкость на самом VHS player Sony . Контуры становились чёткими и мутности меньше. Телевизор разумеется тоже Sony Trinitron. Попробуйте эту фишку. Игровой процесс записывали на vhs кассеты😂 Игры были у нас исключительно пиратские копии. Консоль чиповали на рынке

Great video I just bought a launch edition PS1 and when I hooked up the color wires it came with, to the back of my TV which is a 2013 Samsung smart TV, the picture and textures is very blurry then I bought a HDMI converter which was RCA to HDMI converter on Amazon. it made no difference.. No matter what settings I adjusted in the TV. Or whatever game that I tested. My PS2 on that same TV looks fine with the rocket fish converter i got, so what do you think is the problem?

I know PS1 optimization was at 320P I believe and does this mean I have to get A CRT TV that adjust to that resolution or screen size that it was meant to be played on back then, for the picture to improve? or? Is yours clear playing PS1 games? And if CRT is the difference maker, then I wonder if I still need that converter or not or just hook it directly to the TV and that's it. Or should I use my Current TV and then just get the RGB? I heard RGB's are a little pricey
