This song got me through a very hard time in my life.. i was locked up for the first time and was doing 7years, i was like wow how will i do this.. Its was one of the hardest time in my life to be away from all my love ones, i started to go to the chapel there just to get my thoughts together and have some me time.. There i met this older brother doing a 15year bid, he gave me this cd with the name Donnie McClurkin on it and i was like no bro thanks im gud and walked away.. The brother told me just take it trust me it will help u through this time, i took it just so he would just leave me be not knowin if id ever even play it. but that night in my cell something told me just play it so i did.. i was hooked lol, the cd made my cry but it helped to wash away a lot of hurt i had inside. This may sound crazy but when i look back at the time i think to myself wow i miss that time, but wait now i dont mean being locked up lol i mean i have never been so close to God like that and it felt amazing.. It gave me a clean heart..

We sang this song often in my church choir, and since the pandemic I have missed the assembly of worshippers tremendously. Every time we sang this song I could hardly get through it without crying and breaking down. My choir director would keep her eyes and director's hand towards me to keep me focused on singing.
