Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis discussed storm preparations in the state after Hurricane Ian strengthened into a major hurricane on Tuesday and made landfall in Cuba. Forecasters said hurricane conditions are expected along Florida's west coast Wednesday morning, with tropical storm conditions possibly beginning by late Tuesday. "In some areas, there will be catastrophic flooding and life-threatening storm surge," DeSantis said, encouraging residents in the path of the storm to move to higher ground.

DeSantis is a kind person for mentioning that we all need to take care of our pets during this time and not forget to get extra food and water for them and not to leave them behind. Say what you will about him, but MANY people don’t even have enough common decency to take care of their pets and animals during a time like this. Good on him.
