What does Zirconium Ore Look Like?

preview_player
Показать описание
Zirconium, or element number 40 is widely used in a number of alloys, in some ceramics, and in jewelry via the lab grown gemstone known as cubic zirconia. Almost all of this metal element is extracted from a single mineral, an often bipyramidal crystal which goes by the name zircon. #short #shorts #element #zircon

Also the oldest zircons can be found in Australia with some of them dating back over 4 billion years old.

This channel ROCKS lol OP can you cover davemaoite? To not only explain high-pressure minerals but display the hardness of diamond to contain davemaoite within the lattice structure at normal atmospheric pressure.

They use to call the man made jem, a man made diamond, so I always thought it was mostly carbon.

Its also our main source of hafnium. Since hafnium and zirconium are so similar chemically varying amounts of hafnium often replaces the zirconium in its structure. Also happens with other prominent zirconium minerals like eudialyte. Unfortunately we dont have much uses for hafnium though lol

Hmmm- how do we know it initially had no lead content? The “old earth” folks are kind of famous for creating the scenario and then calibrating their dating methods on the age of things they’ve already decided are a given age… eg: if I sent in some zircon-containing rock and DIDN’T tell the lab exactly where found, the purpose of my inquiry, etc., would they date it for me? And a control sample I sent too? Just sayin’ … Yeah, looking at the limestone cliffs here in TX, and the Grand Canyon with a tiny river unable to cut it out, I’m a Worldwide Flood believer- especially since my brother and I found a huge, non-fossilized bone perhaps 9” diameter, with intact cancellous tissue, sticking out of a dirt hillside construction project in Canada … which goes against all the old-earth narratives I think

It’s tough listening to your videos because of the way you talk. Great content but I wish the narrator would be replaced. It’s the sole reason I don’t subscribe to the channel - I just watch a few shorts every couple of months when I’m bored. I can’t take listening to the narrator for more than 3 minutes
