Does your shower grout look grungy even after cleaning it over and over? You're in good company! So many people have this same problem (including myself). Epoxy grout is a great option for showers because it is resistant to stains, never needs sealed, and won't shrink or crack over time. Plus, it will make your shower floor or walls practically waterproof.

Microfiber cloths are fantastic. It surprised me how well they worked at removing the residue

For anyone curious on this topic..I work for a reputable businesses that specialises in fixing leaking showers and I work with epoxy on the daily. Your biggest priority is getting mapei brand…Use scales to weigh your grout to epoxy ratio, it’s 10 grams of grout to 1 of gram of epoxy. Every job is different so judge how much you need a at your own discretion. All you need is a paint scraper to apply the epoxy into the joint, a bucket with hot water with a decent amount of dish soap, a scouring pad to wash away residue once all joints are completely filled…a dish cloth (yes the one you use to wash dishes) to wipe away residue and even out the grout joints. Let it set for an hour, spray the grout joints down with soap water and smooth it out with your finger. You’re welcome 👍

discussing tile vs fiberglass for shower remodel - my huge concern is cleaning grout and constant upkeep! How long does epoxy grout last, meaning "stays pretty and fresh looking" ? Any special cleaning products to recommend?

You made it look so easy. Thanks for the video. I'm doing an outside glass block window on the weekend. I hope it goes as smooth as you've shown. BTW, I don't have experience with this product yet but I've heard one other commentator mention that you should use warm water for cleaning. Apparently it makes clean up easier. Down side is that I believe this stuff is thermoreactive so it's going to set faster once the warm water hits it.

Can I use this to close a 1/4 inch gap next to my shower drain?

I need to do my shower wall and floor with epoxy grout because over some years not only has the grout changed colour but has fallen away in spots where it doesn't seem to dry as quick .
Do I need to remove all loose grout as well as mould first?

I'm going to use it on my shower that services the pool as the shower pan is leaking and hopefully this will stop the leak at least until I'm ready to demo the floor and look for a longer term solution. This happened 10 years ago and I redid the bathroom, but the labor team didn't care what happened 10 years down the road, which I just discovered.

the sponge isnt just to remove the grout haze on tiles, if you dont go hard with the sponge and watch your joints to make sure theres an even amount of grout on there dont dig joints down with sponge, your grout will be wobbly and not straight . go small circles with the sponge to get the joints perfectly even and flat and than wash the grout haze

Great video I liked it question did you do any scraping out of the stuff that was between the tiles before you put the epoxy grout on or did you just cover everything over with the epoxy grout?

Having in consideration the place where you're using this grout, is this material slippery proof?

Nice video Jeff. As I'm sure you are aware, there really is no need for epoxy grouts for showers or bathrooms or outdoors or any other harsh conditions...except commercial kitchens because of that darn enzymatic cleaners they use. In each area I mentioned, just use high quality "High Performance Grout" or ANSI 118.7 cement grout. Look for highest compressive strength and lowest water absorption...all would be good but some are better than others. Big box stores carry these grouts too. LOOK for ANSI 118.7. No need for sealing; zero efflorescence (some products); crack resistant; color consistency; stain resistant; better warranty; cost more but worth it.

Help! I hope you see this! Someone installed my tile and epoxy grout today and they finished at 12:45 central time, it it's currently 6:15pm and the grout is leaking down the tile. Is this normal? He said it is but I'm worried! I hope you see this!
