If money is not an issue, I want to live in Bangkok. As a Malaysian who is a Chinese descendant, Thailand is my ideal place, where most of the people there are friendly, polite, tolerant, humble, not religious extreme and not racist. They accept people with open arms.

Fortune town is more popular with working people, Central Rama 9 across the street is more popular with tourists. min wage is about $10 a day for manual job, for regular job, I think, $15-$25. malls rent out space for pop-up shops and are regularly rotated, may be weekly, they usually advertise monthly.

I was just in Fortune town this past weekend, there are also a lot of shops that sell guitars, high end audio equipment, and quite a few record shops. People’s expenses in Thailand wildly varies, my wife and I live off of about 2, 000 USD a month, but we rarely go out and have no house or car payments. My only main expense is health insurance, but that is about a tenth of what I was paying in Hawai’i, but I’m getting better health insurance here in Thailand.

Man, regarding ‘whether people want to watch our videos’ you have no idea. When I see your new video in my feed in the morning, before work for example, I will wait watching it until my favorite moment, either during lunch WFH or after work (I watch it on TV). You guys are my favorite Thailand YT channel by far. I’m grateful for the effort you put in your videos. Fighting!!

The pandan drink was called ‘nam woon bai thoey, ’ basically translating as ‘water(nam) jelly(woon) pandan (bai thoey)’. To ask what is the most delicious, you can say ‘Arai Aroi tee soot’, translating to ‘Arai(what) aroi(delicious) tee soot(the most). Love all your videos and always looking out for the next one!

My wife and I have a monthly budget of $4k in Bangkok. So far, we have barely spent over $3k.

Hi Caroline and Anthony! I heard that minimum wage in Bangkok is around $12 USD per day. I plan to retire in Thailand in a few years and I gave myself a budget of $3K USD per month or 102K Baht. I can comfortably live off $2K USD but I gave myself a cushion of $1K USD for unexpected expenses or last minute travel. When I turn 62 yo, I can collect social security benefits which will nearly double my budget but that is overkill! I will save the extra money to later build my dream house on the beach somewhere near Hua Hin or Cha Am or Prachuap Kiri Khan.

I agree that Hawaii would be a beauty home base if money was no option. We live in a tiny town by a lake on Vancouver Island canada + i love summer/fall here. I don’t think we’ll move, we are so connected with nature, hiking, kayaking, fishing. And we get our city fix when we travel for 3m after Christmas. We hope to travel 6m yearly in the future, I love it here but definitely couldn’t live here all year, the winter/spring is way too long + rainy.🤪

If money was no object, I would split time between Hawaii (my hometown) and Thailand. Right now, that's the plan as I near retirement, but who knows as Hawaii is and will likely be expensive to live there in the future. I did want to thank you folks for your vlogs...it helping me to plan for my trip to Bangkok in a few weeks....my first time there! Definitely have to hit up the places that y'all have been to!

For me, I’m Thai. My basic salary is $4.4k (Senior Mgr in MNC with 20 years experience). I’m good with $1.5k/month for food, petrol miscellaneous things like groceries, facilities and to support family. I have no kid, no debt, car and house already paid off. For other expenses like car insurance, car maintenance health insurance, approx. $3k/year.

I’m more than happy living in Thailand with this amount of earnings but just needed to control an unnecessary expenses (keep simplicity) and save enough for life after retirement at the age of 55 with $430k should be good enough to survive for entire life in Thailand.

in my opinion
min. about 12k-20k THB per month
aver. about 30k-50k THB per month
high about 70K+ THB per month
anyway It depend on which company we're working with, even in the same job, there are also a very huge gap.
I'm working in architectural field with 8 years exp and got about 40k+ THB per month.
while in the very same job as me, It can go between 20k-100k.
hope this help!

minimum wage 400 baht per day. Doctor in Thailand makes about 60, 000 baht per month (less than $2k usd per month). Average salary in Thailand is 30, 000 baht (less than a $1000 usd). Less than 10% of Thai make over 100, 000 baht per month. If you have $5000 usd per month, you would live like a King in Thailand. Even $2, 000 or 3, 000 usd would be enough to live in Thailand comfortably. If you have a house and car paid off in Thailand, $2, 000 or $3, 000 would be a comfortable living with saving for traveling as well.
