I go over light, watering, fertilizer, what temperature drops you need to promote flower spikes, what media I use. Happy growing!

Hmmmn. Maybe I’ll try your way. I can’t grow indoors so mine are all the shadehouse, but I think they get too much light,
Your way of watering is better, mine do tend to lose their new growths.
I have a couple of Species which I rescued last year and they are doing well, probably because I isolated them seeing as they were from a rescue situation. For some reason I don’t tend to overwater those ones.

Thank you! I got a zygo 2 weeks ago as a gift. It seems to dry out rapidly. It is in a plastic pot with drainage at bottom only. 1. Should I repot it? One of the leaves turned yellow and leaves generally seem dry. 2. Can I use the same MSU fertilizer as for my Phals?

Hi Dani: great video but I have a question. The leaf spotting you show leading to the leaf dropping has become increasingly rapid on my Zygos. I have a huge one that has died all the way back to nothing but pseudobulbs. I checked and it still has a great root system. Seems like all my Zygos barely get done blooming before the leaf starts yellowing. Fungicides only seem to hasten this effect. The leaves look almost identical to the ones in your video but my plants are mostly down to just pseudobulbs. Any thoughts on this? Thanks!

You said you water once a week. I'm in south Dakota were the winters are dry. I have mine on a schedule of twice a week. Is that ok?

Hello Denny
Thanks dear for sharing.
My seller offering me two fragrant matured zygo to me each 30$ . I was afraid buying b coz I think I will kill them .
Now seeing your video I feel if you support me with your tips to me I can take an adventure to buy both .

You said they are perfect windowsill orchid .. because they don’t like direct sunlight ? 🤔. I’m confused.

Can you tell me how you go about providing a 10-degree temperature drop for your Zygopetalum? and What is the Humidity requirement for Zygopetalum in the home?
