Derivatives are used to derive many equations in Physics. It is used to determine the speed or distance covered such as miles per hour, kilometre per hour etc.

As we know that dy/dx is referred to instantaneous rate of change of y with respect to x but in the case x = 0 it is not possible to find out the derivative because it does not exist due to absence of tangent

f(x)= abs x
f'(x)=(f(x+h)=f(x))/h
f'(x)=(abs (x+h)-abs x)/h which can be written ((abs x+abs h) -abs x)/h,
so abs x and -abs x cancel each other
lim h->0 (abs h)/h=(abs 0)-0=0
if x=0 the derivative is still 0
