Not only I love your content by itself but I very much appreciate that you share the value for physical media.
I pre-ordered this physical but it has already cost me and arm and a leg (longer than Yumia's). These kind of niche games for my region are a pain to get physical and if I wait it will only get more expensive, so regardless if I plan to play them now or later it is better to get than soon for the vast majority of the titles.

Well, Ryza 3 has tons of technical issues on switch so it was expected that Yumia would struggle as well, specially with its open world structure.

I loved Ryza so much that I bought the other games on Steam. I'll pick this one up eventually

Fantastic review. So excited to play Yumia next week. Been a fan of Atelier series since Ayesha on PS3.

In my opinion, the performance and visuals doesn't look that bad. Looks better than most Pokémon games that have been released for the Nintendo Switch. I do not regret preordering my copy from VGP and can't wait to play this game on the Nintendo Switch.

Thanks for your review. I think I’ll wait for that Atelier Resleriana game hoping it’s traditional turn based combat.

Preordered on PS5, Yumia's design was too strong to resist.

As a totally unbiased Atelier fan, I’m just gonna say YES YES YES

I love the Atelier franchise, and own every game available on the Switch (save for Nelke lol) and I love to see the franchise get more ambitious, but it really kinda stinks to see that ambition work against visuals and performance on the Switch. I'd argue that Ryza 2 and Sophie 2 are pretty comparable to their PC and PS4 counterparts, aside from just generally being lower res and running at just 30fps. Here's hoping that, when the Switch 2 releases with its backwards compatibility, Yumia at least gets some sort of performance improvements simply due to the more powerful hardware.

And funnily enough, with Xenoblade X releasing the day before Yumia, I'm personally not that upset about the Yumia physical release delay. Even though I preordered both games, I planned to focus primarily on Xenoblade X first and would swap over to Yumia after I beat a good chunk of what XCX has to offer. If anything, Yumia being delayed means I don't have to feel as rushed XD.

Even though I'm a big fan of the series, I'll wait and see if there's gonna be a Switch 2 version of this. And hopefully that will get a European physical release.

it looks rough low texture with regular framedips but that's to be expected for a current game on a dinosaur hardware
Hopefully Switch 2 can do justice to this game with improved performance

Thank for the review! And also for showing a great website to purchase a physical copy for a reasonable price. It’s a shame we don’t have a physical release in Europe…

I went PS5 premium box for this one, as future of possible Switch 2 upgrade is uncertain.
I want to show love and support to Gust, because they definitely deserve it.

Shall there be patch for Swtich 2, I may pick up second copy as well.

I'm gonna check out the demo when it drops but for me I think it's gonna be a wait and see if they release a Switch 2 version later on.
Specially because when they make the next one in the series (be it with Yumia or a different protag) I doubt it's gonna be on the Switch 1 and I want the trilogy (or whatever it ends up being) all on the same system.

i love the series i had them on ps1 then 2and 3 and 4 now this one so i am glad to see you reviewing it as these are not cheap it it will not be for the switch as others on ps so i think i will stick with it on that one so thanks for the review i will be fighting over who plays it first as my youngest plays them as well

Yes it is worth a purchase. Though it does look a bit flawed, I am happy with how it turned out.... Just looking at the world, I would prefer if in the next game, the maps are a bit less / smaller :D
Supposedly there is going to something like extra maps at a later time. Ryza's premium boxes are really nice. Have them for 2 and 3 and I use the key chain and clear folders haha
