Amid all the ruins we've been uncovering lately 2000 years old really isn't that old when you consider gobekle tepe which is estimated at about 11-12000 years old....

A lot of these ruins are a lot older than traditional beliefs give them credence. Other cultures have inherited these unknown ruins as in Mexico and South America.

That's the mausoleum of Antiochus who reigned over the Commogenes kingdom in ~90-60 BC. It costs 30 Turkish Lira to visit. mystery isn't a mystery since we know why it's there and by it's helpful to know that this is during recorded history, so it's not some ancient mythic place. The Greeks AND Romans would have known about this.

We do know who built it and why. Its the mausoleum of Antiochus 1st. Its even a UNESCO world heritage site.

Old photos actually show at least one of the statue ( the Queen) with the head still attached.But Turkey doesn't protect sides that it deems none-turkish.
