ABOUT ARCTIC AWAKENING:
It was supposed to be routine. A supply drop to an Alaskan town, auto-pilot on, guard down. You and Donovan were already planning post mission drinks when it happened...the storm.
Half the plane disappeared in a flash. Donovan was gone, lost to the howling tempest. Waking from the crash you find yourself alone, trapped in a frozen wilderness, your only companions a court-mandated therapy bot and temperatures that can cut a man to shreds. Hope for survival lies in finding your friend and maybe a way home.

What I’ve learned over the past ten years in to never hop on a plane with Fooster. It always ends up crashing 😅😂

Hey, one of the devs of Arctic Awakening here (and you're right, we're a small team)! Thanks so much for this awesome playthrough, really enjoyed watching it. Super glad you liked the demo! The spots where the dialogue dropped out will be fixed before release. Cheers! ☺

Many will not pick up on it but Kai is a former Navy pilot and Donavan is either a former Marine or "surface" Navy sailor. Donavan called Kai an "Airedale" which is a fraternity-like twisting of the term "Air-det" or air detachment (usually assigned to aircraft carrier duty) "brown shoe" is another term for the air-det team. Donavan also mentioned Pensacola (Fl) The NAS in Pensacola is a Navy flight training base and a flight ops support training center specifically for carrier based flight operations.
I wonder if the game developers are former Navy or did they just do a good bit of character development research?

I have wanted to live in Alaska since I was a little girl. Due to an accident I'm now permanently disabled, and I will likely be unable to ever achieve that goal. It feels like your entire life is taken from you when you have one of these injuries, but you have to adapt. Survival, camping, and self-reliance has been my dream, so finding games like this always makes me a bit delighted.
Edit: this is still getting some traction, so I wanted to give a little tidbit for people. I have gone through a lot of mental stuff outside of the trauma of my accident, but I have been working through that and made great progress, making key realizations. So, despite my disability, I have been working very hard trying to improve. We have plans for me to set out to Alaska eventually, probably sometime next year to be optimistic, and see how I do traveling out there. If all goes well, I may just be moving up there so long as I keep at my physical maintenance. I hope to see the Alaska wilderness soon. ❤

When you were talking about people surviving a plane crash in real life, it reminded me of the 15 year old girl that survived the plane crash over the Peruvian forest. Her row of seats had gotten ejected from the plane, and I guess the way it fell slowed her down, and she lived. I think she survived for like 3-4 days, but she had lived there most of her life and she found an old fishing hut, and 2 fishermen came by and took her to get help. Her parents were scientists studying things in Peru, but they both died in the crash, she followed in their footsteps and did the same. Crazy story.

On paper, I wouldn't have thought that having a therapy drone along would work. But it really does. This could be a very empty-feeling walking/survival game, but with Alfie by your side it guides the introspection nicely.

I grew up and currently live in Tenakee Springs Alaska, but also lived in Juneau Alaska for a couple of years. It is a beautiful place, but it isn't for everyone. When things go wrong here, it happens fast. Not everyone can handle it. If you guys ever manage to get over here to Southeast Alaska, then just let me know. I have some great haunted locations we could check out and film. Thanks again Fooster!

The benefit of snow is an abundance of water. We can live without food for a long while, but we need water.

12:07 You can almost sense the tone of the AI Robot when he see's this strange human waving around a stuffed Dino hoping to somehow make fire that he's thinking "How on Earth did this species last so long?"

This has The Long Dark written all over it.

I read an article and also watched a short video of a young woman who was the lone survivor of a plane crash that was carrying a good amount of folks if I remember correctly it was anywhere from maybe 90 other passengers back in the 1970's.. There was another one I saw more recently where a young teen woman was again the lone survivor of a plane carrying many other passengers. Then I happened to watch an unbelievable interview where through the screen you can actually feel the weight of the emotions and words coming from her Staring death and fear directly in the eyes for moments that must seem like eons only to best them and come out on the other side alive with some bumps and bruises must be a feeling you could never recreate no matter how hard you try! Unbelievable!😮

I fear this will be a great game, but watching this will give me everything I need from it.

Surviving in the cold is harder than heat but it also depends on location. So places in the world are harder than others, that’s why it’s important to learn about your location and topography as much as you can

I'd probably want to survive in a cold place since you have water from the snow and you can make a shelter out of snow too.

I'm not a gamer, kinda dabbled in Skyrim and a few other games over the years but for some reason I gravitate towards your videos. something about them is so comforting and making me want to get into gameplay

Hey hey—Alaska!!! Finally gettin repped. Also, Foos, some of the references made in the in-game dialogue are accurate. Cool touch. 👍

This video reminded me of a Incident that happened quite a while ago:

Somewhere around 1988 ( not sure ) there was a pretty devastating plane crash where just a few people survived after the plane went down, but due to the very cold weather most died a few hours after, but a few that survived longer actually got saved. It's a pretty famous accident and was talked about for a long while you can even find interviews of the survivors/survivor on YouTube. I still think about that till this day because of how horrific the surviving conditions actually we're and how young the people we're.

I live in the mountains of the Adirondack park NY. We just wrapped up two weeks of 0F or below temps. Got as low as -18F one night. Extreme cold is no joke. I chop trees and split wood to season for the woodstove. Keeps the front half of the house 70-85F, back 58-62F. Outside can kill you in a couple hours without proper clothing. I've hiked all the high peaks in these mountains and backpacked 100 mile plus trips in remote wilderness. Even with 20+ years experience there are areas in the Winter I won't risk. But, I love where I live, it's beautiful and peaceful.
