This DIY charging station was built out of a necessity to find a spot for the three tablets constantly roaming our house from my wife and I’s three small roommates. I wanted it to be a fun woodworking project but mix in some cool technology. Enter the LEDs and arduino project. It was my first time working with arduino projects and current sensors and I didn’t get it exactly right. But I learned a few new things about electronics projects and this DIY charging table is going to be just what our family needs to organize the cell phones and tablets.

wow, even if you had trouble with the code, the effect of the light pulsing around the epoxy is absolutely awesome to look at! that thing is super cool and looks great!

This is what DIY is all about. Learning from your mistakes and in your next iteration you will become more confident and knowledgeable. DIY life.

9:02 The Arduino Due has a scheduler library available, that allows you to create threads running independently from each other, so you can update more strips at a time without messing with timings and other complex things. You can make as many loop functions as you need. It even has a lot more pins and it's a lot faster

If you use wireless charging IT would be a masterpiece :)

Take it from an old Electronics Technician. The effort you put into it shows that you care. You can always get help from an Arduino expert later on, if you haven't already done so. Don't ask me though. I stopped about 10 years ago. I did do LED lights all over inside and outside of my house. Just 2 thirty amp power supplies run everything.

If you get with Bob from "I like to make stuff" he does alot of projects with arduino chips and electronics he might help you out.

As someone who has followed you a long time, this build is totally next level. I love that you used wood, epoxy, LEDs, arduino, etc.

I love the commentary and jokes! They really make your videos stand out! :) And the fact that you show your mistakes instead of only showing a perfect final product!

This is the first video of yours that I've watched, as it addresses an idea that I have that is similar, only using wireless charging instead of wired.

I really loved your enthusiasm, and your humor - you've got the viewer engagement part of making vids down pat!

Thanks for making my Friday!
