I really do hate when Calvinists use “sovereign” to mean “divine determinism” (which goes against the dictionary and the Bible’s usage of that word”

"Sovereign" = Fatalistic in Calvinism.

I recently had a Calvinist tell me that their friends divorce was determined. When his friend’s two daughters grow into teenagers, he’s going to have some theological explaining to do.

Easily said if your not the one moving around and being dropped off.

I thought God hated divorce?

His in control but does not control our evil sins rape murder etc.

He allows it and can use our evil for good.
But he does not make us sin or even temp us with evil.

Even satan does not make us sin but he does tempt us to sin as he did the angels.

He is correct good God is in control of everything. The thing that God has graciously done is given us free will so it's our choice to act with our own decisiveness to accomplish whether we are good or whether we are bad. And of course we know he will judge us on our own actions.

God is sovereign and he literally holds the universe in perfect balance, but you folks would say when it comes to your lives, God isn't in control of the final destination?
You have to agree that God is the determiner of the day of your birth and your death. You have to agree that God is the determiner of the end of all things, including time. Yet when it comes to divine judgement for our willful communion with sin from our inherited nature to our first conscious sin act, God isn't the one that chooses whether or not to save?? Come on folks.

Ah, if only God was powerful enough to allow man choice and still achieve His objectives. (sarcasm). How many times in scripture are we told to make good choices for this or that? (too many to count). How many times in scripture are we told that God controls our decisions?

I find it fascinating that Calvinists spend so much time preaching on the sovereignty of God yet the word sovereign and sovereignty is not even found in the Bible! Sure, all the new age per-verions use it a lot but THE Word of God in English... the KJV, doesnt use it even once. Do a word search, its not there! And I don't believe this is a secondary issue, Calvinism is a false gospel.

Dont quarrel with people who don't understand what pastor John is saying, since God abandoned them they will never get what he preaches, dont even try just let them go according to their own instincts and enjoy the truth of God's sovereignty.
