I imagine Deet causing the destruction we see in the movie at the end. That the great cracks we see around the castle were made to bring in electricity from the planet to reinforce the crystal, and the bridge destroyed by the rebelion ultimately gave the bad guys more time to retaliate...

Here's a lore qestion that's been bugging me for a while now: what the heck happened with the Gruenaks? AOR establishes that the Skeksis "eradicated" them, then the Bestiary book explains they had advanced technology, which has been lost to time. My question is, why did the Skeksis destroy them, and how? Did they use Gelfling as soldiers? If yes, then that would mean that the Gelfling were instruments of genocide...
P.S.: On a side note, the Gruenaks in my head canon are cousins of the Podlings, in the same way Neanderthals were to us. They're both potato-like bipeds with three fingers, unlike the Gelfling's four.

I think at some point, with every clan infected, Augrah would seek out whatever remaining Uru and Skeksis there would be in hiding. After all, The Skeksis were cowardly at their core and feared power they couldn't control. And above all they're consummate survivors, using any trick or skill. I think Augrah would be forced to be a bridge of sorts between the two halves, and the creatures of Thra. The Darkening is a sickness, an illness, so the Uru and Augrah would be tasked to cure it.

As we saw with Deet, the Darkening corrupts Gelflings at a different rate than the other lifeforms on Thra; I think a new Resistance, refusing to use the Darkening, would form, seeking a cure even as the other clans eradicated each other. While it could easily spread, and subterfuge would absolutely take place on either side, I choose to have hope that Thra herself could pull through, and maybe even do a hard reset on life. After a few thousand trine, maybe start over again..

But the Darkening would still touch the land. The new creatures born would have to be a balance of light and dark, and it would be curious to see what new life would grow from a forced balance like that.

I like the concept of turning them into ghoul gelfling that must hide and to stop the spread of the darkening. But them residing deep within Thra to consume more of the darkening further deranging them.

In the short-term, they would wipe the floor with the Skeksis, but in the long-term, Thra would suffer and possibly die even faster than it would have with the Skeksis still around.
