We do not smile artificially "keep smiling" with a smile glued to our lips. We smile naturally when we have a reason.
We have a saying about laughing like an idiot into the cheese

About English in Poland, for younger generation it’s second language, for older it’s not.

In bigger cities you’ll easily communicate in English. But, if you want to live here longer than year, you’ll need to learn Polish at some point, for even small talk in vegetables store, or when you’ll need to buy tickets etc.

My husband is from Zamosc, Poland 🇵🇱!! Poland is wonderful. My husband is amazing. Poland 🇵🇱 has the best food on planet earth. Why does anyone have to smile at a strange. My interactions with the Polish people were better than in LA, California. California is awful. Go

You surprised me by saying that people in Belarus don't clean after their dogs. As I've seen also on YT, its capital Minsk has the reputation of a very clean city, am I wrong on this? About the weather - trust me, Poles aged above 40 can remember times when it was much colder here. Especially the last ten years (2014-2023) have been (in general terms) as warm as they've never been, at least in the last ca 300 years of weather observations here. Climate warming is going crazy in Poland. The most recent example - temperatures at 27-28 degrees Celsius in Warsaw (8-9 April this year, in the shade) until now were unthinkable this early in the season (historically they did occur a few times in late April). The most recent old-style blizzard occured here in... 2014. Many people are feeling that this country has somehow moved southwards! 😎

would it be a good idea to move to my grandparents at like 19 years old in Poland? i can read, speak and write the language and plan to just go straight into work there instead of uni but that may change - not sure.
I’d be moving from UK and i hate it here lol

To everyone reading (foreigners considering moving to Poland). If you come to Poland, you must know Polish. Otherwise you will be alienated. Greetings :)

Interesting is that your accent is 100% polish not russian. How long do you live here? ;)

I guess you don't speak belorusian, because bielorusian is so similar to polish that you wouldn't have to learn longer than 6 months to speak fluently.
Everybody at school learns English, so everybody understands but to speak you have to travel to foreign countries and practice a little bit. Education in Warsaw is the best in Poland, so probably this is the reason for people speaking better English than elsewhere.

In Wroclaw and Poznan older people speak rather German thn English. It used to be (after Russian) next foreign language. Now it changed and every pupil learn English as first one.

Hello Irina, my family and I are relocating to Poland this year. We've been hired by a company based in Warsaw. I've been watching your videos, and they're fantastic! Could you offer any advice on the best neighborhood to settle in? :)

I'm not sure what this lady is talking about when she says that Polish people are not open to communication? I might have misunderstood this.
