In this video I show you how to learn the Fortigate command line, using a simple command ON the command line! I love this trick!

If your like me, like most people, you start off in the GUI and learn a lot then eventually wonder into the CLI because you come across a feature or troubleshooting step that requires that you work out of the command line. I used to stumble around the command line, I was not very proficient with it. I had to refer to the Fortigate CLI Reference Guide often, 'tab' out commands or use '?' and google to figure things out even though I knew how to do them QUICKLY in the GUI. This was a major barrier to my adoption of the CLI...

Using the "Diag Debug CLI 8" command coupled with "Diag Debug Enable" we can easily see the CLI equivalent of the of all changes made in the GUI! Super short, super simple! Highly effective, just the way we like it!
