As always YouTube comments don't understand anything. Nobody is justifying these prices, not once did I say this was good, nowhere has anyone seriously enjoyed this.

300 for a playset of Fuwalos is a good price *in the context of yugioh*. Yeah it sucks! Nobody likes that! It's awful! But the only alternative is to just... Don't ever buy good cards out of protest?

By all means go ahead, I respect your dedication to do that but for a lot of us, the love of the game outweighs the cost of playing.

Once again, I am a firm believer in the idea that Konami TCG doesn't respect their player base

Players: Hey Konami TCG, are we allowed to use cards in other languages that aren't English.
Konami TCG: Yea just make sure you know the card or have a translation.

Players: Cool, can we use OCG cards then?
Konami TCG: No! You can't do that for... reasons ($$$)

yeah it was a non-short-printed rare, the price kinda increased after they semi'd maxx c, it went from ~$5 to like ~$8

if ocg players would play tcg they would not play tcg

Damdosik is very likely Damned Secret. Damned being the Japanese nickname for Dark Armed Dragon, and it was a secret rare on first release in the TCG while it was only a rare in the OCG.

"I might be part of the problem..." you are.

Yugioh tcg as a whole is just mega unaffordable. People fr pay like 20 bucks for a full meta championship winning pokemon deck and Yugioh players dump 300 big ones for a single low rarity playset and think its a good deal. That should tell you how sad the pricing is. Most casual players wouldn't pay 300 bucks for a full deck in other games let alone for 3 cards that arent even a collector's rarity.

3:33 Yeah, Master Duel might as well be the only official format. I don't care enough about yugioh, and its small indie company to spend this kind of money on it.

"I paid $300 bucks for 3 bits of cardstock and honestly that's a good price it's what they're worth." <- sorry like this is just entirely the reason we have this problem because of people who think this.

Bought them a couple of days ago, at 1100¥ each. So basically around 6/7€, it is brutal how inflated tcg numbers are.

Yeah I’m taking a break from buying cards for a while. I haven’t gone to an event in two years. It’s not worth me spending this much money when I’m not playing against anyone except my friends.

$300 for 3 cards is a “good price”?
definitely part of the problem

" Do they decide the rarity based on the demand in japan?"

Not just demand but actual performance results. Cries in Vanquish Soul tcg rarities, I was going to pick them up as my starting deck.

It's crazy how literally none of this matters. Konami has been milking the tcg for years and it will never stop. We were complaining about it during zoo format and were still complaining about it now

if Konami would print cards in multiple rarities the higher rarities of cards would explode in price while all the lower end cards would also get a bump from 1¢ to at least 5¢ per card.

I feel like in Japan, where the competition between card games is fiercer, you unironically need affordable options for the casual base, otherwise they will just leave

This is why I don't play in paper anymore. Quit several years ago and though I would love to come back, its just too expensive to ever justify.

Konami: We have heard our player's feedback and have removed cards such as Fuwalos from our packs. They are now exclusively tournament prize cards, thank you for playing Duel Links.
