You can utilize this technique on guitar as well. Gypsy-guitarists play like that. And most of them gain breathtaking speed.

Hi Navid, when playing a C Major scale, for example, with added tremolo, there's a huge gap between the first note (C) and the the open first string. Would the pattern still be down, up, down, up for one tremolo 'unit' or would it be down, down, up, down? I find the latter easier but I can only do it very slowly. Farid el Atrache does it at the speed of light. Are there more than 3 notes in his tremolo between his scale notes? Could you do a video on scales with tremolos? Thanks!

I've been playing the Oud for three months and still have trouble using tremolo i have tried almost all kind of Risha the best one as you said not too thick nor thin.
when i play tremolo in the air it looks good but when i put my hands on the oud it wont work.

Hello and thank you for your videos ! I would like to buy an Arabic Oud and i would like to ask for your advice. My budget is around 300-450 $ and i would like something good to start with.. ornamentations and such is not so important, the sound is everything for me. Id be very grateful for any advice ! You need to normalise audio in your youtube videos. I changed from your videos to other videos, then the audio was extremely loud .
