Lumix really do take care of there users. The S5ii/x was already a great camera these new firmware makes it even better. The camera specs -6 open gate. PDF. 4k or C4k. The best in IBS. V-log. Xan record proxy files and Pro res in camera all for under 2k. In fact the Sony a7iv is double the price with the Sony a7v even more. The Lumix cameras are great cameras for the price

Pretty sure he summarized proxy recording incorrectly... It's not how I heard it explain before, and that doesn't make a whole lot of sense that you would be able to just invent detail in post. Smaller file size means less information less information means less detail. The system isn't magic it's a science.

I could be wrong, but what I heard that made sense was that proxy recording gave you a second video of lesser quality that you could use for timeline edits but the particular formatting actually allows you to at rendering switch to using the higher detail video as a source instead of the low detail.

Whoever does the editing doesn't need the higher detail video but whoever renders it certainly will need that higher resolution/bitrate file on hand.

So is s52 and s52X now on par with each other after firmware 3.0 on the s52? Also, if we have older pre 2.0 on the s52, do we still have to pay $200 to first upgrade to 3.0? Or can we skip 2.0 altogether and upgrade to 3.0 for free?

Do you know what is the crop size when using the new stabilisation mode ? I tried it on my S5II and it looks pretty huge, I would certainly not use this mode when I want the best image quality.

proxy not asvailable for 6k open gate lol That's the one you really need it. the 6k files are essetialy 3 times the resolution of 4k.

The marketing campaign, influencer early access and embargo on this FIRMWARE update is just beyond ridiculous... Did we mention that it's free??? Honestly the firmware update is appreciated but extremely overly hyped.Did i mention that it's free??? Free firmware update... wow!!!
