CrowdStrike Broke the internet and crashed billions of computers

Description:

On July 19, 2024, some bad coding in crowd strike caused millions, if not billions of windows computers to crash, causing the BSOD (Blue Screen of Death)

This video will show you how to fix it.

Follow these steps to enter Safe Mode from the WinRE:

1. At the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot.
2. At the Troubleshoot screen, select Advanced Options.
3. At the Advanced Options screen, select Advanced Startup Options.
4. Select Startup Settings.
5. Select Restart.
6. The computer restarts and enters the Startup Settings menu. Select 4 or F4 to start the computer in Safe Mode.

Once in Safe Mode:

1. Navigate to the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike directory
2. Delete the C-00000291 file
3. Restart the PC normally

Some services in our area went down with this incident. Banks, internet and TV services experienced issues.
