I always comment on these videos when DB is properly interviewed because he actually did change my life. Back in 2000 I was at university doing a Japanese degree and was struggling - at this time internet was still in its infancy and DB was just up and coming. I managed to find the contact details for his agent and emailed, explaining I was struggling to learn all the Japanese Kanji and could Derren (via his agent) suggest any strategies. Although I wasn't expecting a reply I got one - with a load of strategies and book recommendations. Fast forward to now and I'm a Consultant in the NHS with three undergrad degrees, two masters, and in the middle of a clinical doctorate. Genuinely don't think I would have had the skills to do that without the little email he sent, and I'm absolutely certain he won't even remember. For that he'll always be one of my heroes

I'm a mental health recovery worker. And speaking from conversations I've had with people, short, dated goals are massively important. However, to echo what Derren has said, we focus on goals that we, and we alone are in control of. As an example, rather than "by the end of spring I will have a job" we say "by June, I will have applied for 5 jobs". Ultimately, someone else decides whether we get the job or not, but we control our actions that impact on our chances of success.

After having been bullied by my six older siblings for being "SO sensitive", I've finally come to learn that my precious sensitivity is my greatest strength. If you're sensitive and thinking you're somehow weak, hang on, because you'll come to learn how truly special you are.

Grew up watching Derren and seen his show in Glasgow a short while ago, he dedicated the show to his late father and the message at the end was "Don't just sleep walk through life", basically don't just accept your fate because one day you will regret it... the message deeply resonated with me as I had to be reminded of it at the time and even still now. Derren is a great showman and he has entertained us all for many years and I'm sure that he will continue to do so for many years to come.

I think what I most like about Derren Brown is his openess and honesty. This is apparent in his performances - he tricks our minds whilst telling us that is what he is doing. He is completely unguarded in this interview and I love him for that. His live entertainments are life-affirming, he is an exceptional human being. I also appreciate this interviewer's peaceful and relaxed pace, giving his subject room to think without distraction. I hadn't seen this channel before. I will subscribe.

Ahhhh I've been wanting you to interview Derren Brown for SOOOO long, I saw his most recent show in December and what he does is truly mind-blowing, and he is so transparent about it. What an intelligent man! ❤🙏

I love how even DB can't put a finger on exactly what he does. A true enigma, and certainly the most charismatic and magnetic showman I ever saw. Great pod.

A friend of mine watched Derren live, the next day he said that it changed him, he was saying things like it had changed his perspective of things, my friend was fine, but yeh definitely opened up a part of his consciousness. Great guest Steven.

What a great interview. Derren is possibly my favourite 'celebrity'. I always learn something from everything of his that I watch or read. He would 100% be on my dream dinner party list.

Derren comes across really well. Very honest and humble. From what I see here, he's a lovely guy. People like him deserve huge success.

I have always been a fan of Derren Brown and have fond memories of watching his shows on tv when I was younger. Last year, I had the opportunity to see him live in Birmingham and it was an incredible experience. I even had the chance to go on stage with him. His show made me really step back and think outside the box. I listen to your channel regularly and wanted to express my appreciation for the impact it has had on my life.
Since the age of 13, I have struggled with mental health issues. I was scared of the world and couldn't even go outside to the shops. Over the years, I have experienced both good and bad things that have helped me grow, but it wasn't until recently that I was able to break free from the grip of my mental health struggles. In the last year, my confidence has grown, some times I struggle to belive I am the same person when I look back. However a part of me still felt stuck and I found myself slipping back into old habits and thoughts. I became tired of working for others and being a people-pleaser. Since discovering your channel a month ago, I have started a business with a friend and have learned to say no to people. Your interviews with others and your own words have helped me take the leap to truly live and enjoy my life. My mindset is now (at 26) much more positive and I am learning to see everything in life, both the good and the bad, as opportunities to learn.Thank you for making these podcasts and videos. They are truly inspiring and motivating.

I’ve seen Derren 3 times now and have been a fan for many years, I was in the finale of his show in Leeds last summer and he never fails to both boggle my mind and wow me with his talent in equal measures!! Great interview!

Loved Derren's stuff since way back in the day of the first TV shows. I also grew up quite secluded and enjoyed my own company and certainly love and value the ability to enjoy complete silence and seclusion as an adult, something the vast majority of people seem to really struggle with, I thrive in it. Good to know it's a 'thing' shared by others.

I went to see Derren's tour 'Showman' in Bradford a year and change ago and he had me on stage for the finale. I am both in awe and terrified of this man in equal measure

As you get older it becomes less about the good times and more about good companionship.

Relationships are about what you bring out in people and what they bring out in you.

Darren Brown is such a boss. Surprised he is not more well known, he really exposes the reality of how the mind works, and how people are so easily manipulated…

Steven I really enjoy your podcasts so much. You’re no. 1 in my list of podcasters. The questions you ask, your titles, the way your intros make it seem so suspenseful, your whole setup which feels so intimate and how you listen so keenly only interrupting to ask a deeper question related to the topic being discussed, I can watch hours and hours of your podcasts and never get bored, I just love them so much. You have this amazing art of getting people to speak with such depth. Your podcasts are so much more insightful when I compare podcasts of the same guest hosted by some other podcasters so I know for a fact it has got to do with your unique abilities. Thank you so much for sharing these with us, you’re doing an amazing job. ❤

What a treat! Massive thanks to you and the team for pulling this out the bag 🙏🏽 Fantastic questions as always, you coax out the authenticity in the conversation. I've been in awe of Derren Brown since mind control but it's so nice to see him as a genuinely nice and normal guy
