I remember the first time I heard this song.

I was around 10 years old, and I was staying the night at my mom's friend's place. It was mostly a normal night, but then I woke up to this playing. It was Adult Swim, and I guess one of the other kids in the house left the tv on before we all went to bed..but it was like I was in a trance, between sleep and being awake. I watched Adult Swim for the first time that night, and it was my first true experience with anime.

Years later, after I found this song again, it brought back those feelings I had that night. And it reminded me of my childhood, where things seemed to be more simpler and comforting. I didn't have to think about bigger things, it was just me watching the tv while eating chicken nuggets and drinking chocolate milk.

This song definitely defined a whole generation. Whether it was like how I experienced it, or through some other means, it's a place in time that we always want back and can look fondly on now despite any trauma or grief that may have happened during it.
