Man anything is better than a stock cooler.

very good liquid cooling I got it for 140 dollars and it is one of the best investments I have made, the only bad thing is that it is too big and it is difficult to get a suitable case for it

Both did very well on this test. Air or Water... doesn't matter!

I'm really surprised that people don't undervolt their CPU, Literally with zero performance cost, Because the CPU voltage at stock is way higher than required, I'm using Noctua single fan cooler and it stays between 50-58C at high end gaming

Less temperature is always better for pc but air coolers has almost no point of failure expect the fan, aio water cooler however can leak when it gets old, the pump might go if you have a custom loop leaking everywhere and you have to do maintenance for it, also water coolers in general are more expensive and take more space inside your case, one more big cable to manage ^.^

Hogwarts legacy is still facing frametime issues it had very bad 0.1% lows in air cooler

Air Cool dumps heat inside the case and makes everything hotter.

Amd with ryzen 7000: "Hold my beer at 95, 5 °C!"
i prefer always air cooler, the best one who want to use it for a long time without risks. A good air cooler is not a lot less in performance with an aio. Now i'm using ryzen 7 7700x with an arctic air cooler with two fan and it works just fine.

I've got same temperatures like this Arctic Liquid on my air cooled i5-12400F(Aqirys Uranus LS Black) . What a MONSTER ! 👽The power consumption of the cpu reaches only 40-50W in gaming against the limit of the cooler that provides 200W TDP! Curious to see how it performs paired with i9 13900K. If I were in your place I'll try to underclock this i9 and then check the temperatures. Give it a try.

Sure, liquid is better both for cooling and noise reduction. But it has higher risk when failing.

i am using dark rock pro for two years.I havent check it after first install.Still working perfectly without any temp increase.10 celcius isn't worth for paranoia and money cost. I am pretty sure it will still work after ten years.

A noctua would get you closer to parity, and you don't have to worry about your pump dieing! Besides, tjmax for most consumer chips is 99c, LOTS of thermal headroom

How about this
Vertical gpu kit vs normal gpu install

I can see that air cooler also helps the GPU to vent the air out of the casing. If you're using a casing. Now check the GPU load and temperature also in the video. Either the GPU runs colder or having lower load for the same frame. Overall FPS still win on the water cooler side tho.

Just one thing.
This test is using BeQuiet's Dark Rock Pro4 for air cooling, BeQuiet themselves recognized that the Dar Rock Pro4 is 'underperforming' (meaning it works, just fine, but it definitely could be better) when cooling either 13th Gen Intel or AMD's AM5 and that they are working on a new air cooler.

If you wanna shave off a few extra degrees with air cooling, get yourself a Noctua NH-D15 or a DeepCool AK620 and pair them with a Fractal Design Torrent case (this case was meant for air cooling and works like an air tunnel. It has two, massive, 180mm fans blowing straight into the cpu and three 140mm fans providing fresh air for the gpu)
