I noticed the side clamps on mine are kind of loose also and don't clamp down tight. I haven't tried water, but that's probably what will happen. Also I took the cap off the back and put it into the tray because the suction seemed better, well you have to dump the entire base, so there went my cap into the trash, not sure I need it. It sucks that the tray that holds all the accessories has to be emptied before you can dump the bucket. Not the greatest ideas for a vacuum.
