Grayson Perry has been thinking about masculinity since he was a boy. Now, in his book, The Descent of Man, he turns round to look at men with a clear eye and ask, what sort of men would make the world a better place, for everyone?

Here, Sapphire McIntosh goes out on to the streets of London to ask men, does male privilege exist?

In my opinion male privilege does exist but so does female privilege. Both genders have their own advantages and disadvantages that the other does not have. However too many people think that if one gender experiences problems that makes the opposite genders problems not as bad simply because they have a privilege over the other.

Maybe once upon a time male privilege existed but we're not stuck in the old days any more. if anything there's female privilege, for example when i was looking for a place to live in London i found that any place that came within budget was pretty much only let out to women.

That whole "We Feel Left Out" mentality is akin to that of a victim mentality, which undermines the strength women are supposedly representing with the whole Feminism know what I feel left out about? I feel left out when I see women get respect for no reason, who get the benefit of the doubt just because of their gender. I hate knowing the girl I talked to in Pilates class yesterday who is 22 years old has 2 cars, a Bentley and a G-wagon, because pathetic dudes just throw money at women and they get to keep it and act like they earned it.
